The elections in the DRC have long been a logistical nightmare and the previous elections have been tainted with serious irregularities. There are 46 million voters who vote for 34,900 candidates for 500 national seats and 715 provincial seats; 21 presidential candidates in 21,100 voting centers, across this huge country, mostly rural.
